Files

The first file is being built. This page lists it as soon as it is ready.

One CSV for the whole country, one per state, and the whole country as Parquet. Rebuilt every morning. The CSV files are UTF-8 with a header row, gzipped.

Licence

The compilation is shared under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0). Use it for anything, including commercial work. Credit it as: DouxProcess Directory (douxprocess.directory), from public records listed at https://douxprocess.directory/sources.

Each row comes from a public record or an open dataset whose own terms are on the sources page. Listings from Overture Maps places also carry CDLA-Permissive-2.0 and the notices listed there.

Columns

  • slug: The listing's id; its page is https://douxprocess.directory/b/<slug>
  • url: The listing page
  • name: The business name as the record states it
  • categories: Category ids, separated by |
  • street: Street, only where the listing page shows one (never for a home-based business)
  • city: City
  • state: Two-letter state
  • zip: ZIP code, only where the street is shown
  • country: Country (US)
  • lat: Latitude: exact where the street is shown, otherwise rounded to 2 decimals (about a kilometre)
  • lng: Longitude, the same rule
  • phone: Business phone
  • website: Website
  • licences: Each licence or registration as: issuer number status expires, separated by |
  • status: seeded (from public records), claimed or verified (the owner took it)
  • updated_at: When the listing last changed

The file carries what the listing pages show and nothing more. A home-based business is a city and a rounded point, never a street. A listing taken down on request is gone from the next file.
