How results are ordered

Every search, on this site and through AI assistants, orders results by one rule:

1. How well the business matches what was asked.
2. Businesses located in, or serving, the state asked about.
3. Businesses that proved they control their listing, before ones that have not.
4. The business that received the fewest requests through DouxProcess in the last 24 hours, so requests rotate.
5. The oldest listing.

Nobody pays for placement. Affiliation with DouxProcess's owner never changes rank. AI assistants receive the same order, with this rule attached to every result set.
